PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave electrodeless discharge lamp device adaptable to a variety of shapes of luminaires with less kinds of transmitting means. SOLUTION: The microwave electrodeless discharge lamp device comprises: microwave generation means for generating microwave, transmitting means for transmitting the microwave; a resonator for introducing the microwave through the transmitting means; a connecting part for connecting the microwave from the transmitting means to the resonator; and an electrodeless lamp provided in the resonator. The transmitting means comprises a coaxial cable having deflectability at least at the area connected to the resonator. The connecting part is an antenna connected to the core conductor of the coaxial cable. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
