PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, a method and a program for presenting peripheral information in navigation in which information on the periphery of a course can be acquired without imposing any burden on a user. SOLUTION: The system for presenting peripheral information in navigation comprises an ROM controller 7 for storing map information, a section 43 for calculating a course of a vehicle from a starting point to a goal based on the map information, a section 46 for retrieving the peripheral information based on the map information, a display 9 for displaying the calculated course and the retrieved peripheral information, a button display control section 8c for button displaying the item concerning to the retrieved peripheral information at a position on the display 9 matching its position on a map relatively, a section 50 for updating the button display to scroll, and an input unit 10 for selecting an item in the button display and displaying corresponding peripheral information on the display 9.
