PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive tilt steering device facilitating positioning in tilt adjustment because sense of moderation is obtained when performing tilt adjustment. SOLUTION: A plate member 26 having an elastic projection 28 is fixed to a surface on a side opposing to an upper part fixed bracket 17 on a side plate 9 on one side (side plate 9 on the right side in the drawing 2) of an upper column bracket 10. Recessed parts 30, 31, 32 are formed in a region where the elastic projection 28 comes into contact with a fixed side plate 16 in the fixed side plate 16 on one side of the upper part fixing bracket 17. Consequently, the elastic projection 28 is engaged with any of the recessed parts 30, 31, 32 when an operator adjusts a tilt position to provide sense of moderation and give standard for positioning in tilt adjustment in order to perform positioning easily. Furthermore, this tilt steering device 1 can be inexpensively realized because it is enough by providing only the plate member 26 and the recessed parts 30, 31, 32 in a conventional tilt steering device.
