PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver with a function for removing adjacent interfering waves, which efficiently removes the interfering waves adjacent to a wave desired to receive and has almost no distortion in a received signal, after detection. SOLUTION: A plurality of bandwidth filters to detect the adjacent interfering waves are provided in the vicinity of the wave desired to receive. The bandwidth of the bandwidth filter for detecting generation situation of the adjacent interfering waves in the vicinity of the wave desired to receive and for passing the desired wave for reception, according to the generation situation is controlled. The bandwidth filter for detecting the adjacent interfering waves is constituted of a digital filter which can vary the center frequency and is also constituted so as to detect the adjacent interfering waves, by scanning a frequency region in the vicinity of the wave desired to receive, using such a filter.
