PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor with brush wherein problems that may arise during the assembling of the motor are solved. SOLUTION: The motor with brush comprises a holder 17 housed in a housing 30, and a torsion spring 18 one end of which is held by the holder 17 and the other end of which energizes a brush 15 toward a commutator 14. The motor 10 with brush is so constituted that the holder 17 comprises a holder base portion 17A whose outside shape is substantially the same as the shape of the inner circumferential surface of the housing 30, a brush box portion 17B which arrests the circumferential position of the brush 15, a central projected portion 17C which supports the center 18A of twist of the torsion spring 18, and the other end-side projected portion 17D which is protruded in the axial direction on the outer radius side of the central projected portion 17C and on the inner radius side of the holder base portion 17A. When the other end of the torsion spring 18 is anchored to the other end-side projected portion 17D, the other end of the torsion spring 18 is positioned outside the outer circumferential surface of the holder base portion 17A in the radial direction.
