PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively inexpensively constitute a thin motor for use in a magnetic disk device. SOLUTION: The thin motor comprises a rotor magnet 3 at its internal or external periphery, a rotor yoke 2 rotatably supported on a motor base 6, and a stator core 8 formed of a plurality of T-shaped windings 9 that face the rotor magnet 3 at their tips 9a. The thin motor is configured such that the plurality of T-shaped windings 9 that constitute the stator core 8 are notched along the radial direction of a hole 7a and integrally formed to the motor base 6 wherein the hole 7a for supporting the rotor yoke 2 is formed, and each of the T-shaped windings 9 is bent so as to face the rotor magnet 3 at its tip 9a. The T-shaped windings 9 as the stator core 8 can easily be manufactured, and installation work is dispensed with, thus reducing the number of part items and man-hours. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
