PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply device capable of reducing loss in an idling state in the switching power supply having a phase shift control system. SOLUTION: The switching power supply device comprises a transformer 50, a full-bridge type switching circuit 40 installed at the primary side of the transformer 50, output circuits 60, 70 installed at the secondary side of the transformer 50, and a control circuit 80 that controls the phase shift of the switching circuit 40. The control circuit 80 is brought into an operation stop state in response to a state that the output current of the switching power supply device is less than a prescribed value. The idling state of the device causes the operation stop state of the control circuit 80, and the loss induced when the switching power supply device is brought into the idling state is thereby reduced.
