PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting member for a magnetic disk device capable of absorbing variation within a tolerance of a specification in the width direction of the magnetic disk device without being accompanied by deformation causing harm in mounting, and to provide electronic equipment mounted therewith. SOLUTION: A tilting side face part 102 of the mounting member is tilted inside, and is formed in a trapezoid with a width which can be maximized as a tolerance within the width dimension of the mounting base 101 and which can be minimized as a tolerance within the dimension between the upper ends of the tilting side face part 102, according to the specifications of the width of a HDD to be mounted. And, when the HDD 1 is to be mounted on the mounting member but cannot be mounted if the tilting side face part 102 is kept as it is, the tilting side face part 102 is pulled so that the distance between the upper ends is widen, the HDD 1 is inserted by widening the width between the upper ends of the tilting side face part 102 and is held by screws and fixed.
