PURPOSE: A system and method for updating a file is provided to execute an update of an execution file of a terminal through a network. CONSTITUTION: A terminal(30) needs an update of an execution file. A host(10) generally manages general processing data of the terminal(30). A distributed server(20) includes a data processing unit which arranges processed data being created and transmitted in many terminals and transmits the data to the host(10) and an execution file processing unit(100) which stores an execution file to be updated by the terminal(30), recognizes a processed load state of the terminal(30) which requests an update, and transmits the execution file to the terminal(30). The execution file processing unit(100) includes the follow elements. A file storing unit includes execution files. The lower data interface receives a request of an execution file from the terminal(30) and transmits a requested execution file to the terminal(30). A buffer temporarily stores a file read in the file storing unit by the received file request. A load checking unit senses a load state of the terminal(30) and transmits a file stored in the buffer to the lower data interface for transmitting the file to the terminal(30).
