<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method of propagating vibration to liquid metal which can be realized on an industrial large scale. <P>SOLUTION: A prescribed magnetic field and a prescribed wave motion are applied to a conductor fluid in such a manner that, provided that the length of the conductor fluid in a direction vertical to a magnetic field applying direction is defined as ¾⊥(m),δ=(2/σμω)<SP>1/2</SP>, andλ<SB>//</SB>=2πB/ω(ρμ)<SP>1/2</SP>, the conditions of ¾⊥>δ(1) andλ<SB>//</SB>>δ(2) (σ: the electric conductivity (S/m) of the conductor fluid,μ: permeability (H/m),ω: the angular frequency (rad/s) of the wave motion to be applied: B: the dimensions (T) of the static magnetic field to be applied, andρ: the density (kg/m<SP>3</SP>) of the conductor fluid) are satisfied. Thus, a prescribed vibration is caused within the conductor fluid, and is propagated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
