PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable communication with a machine in accordance with only a procedure of a conventional T.30 Protocol, when a facsimile machine is equipped with the functions of a V.8 Protocol. SOLUTION: When an opposite side machine or own machine does not have a V.34 functionalities, after executing the procedure of the V.8 Protocol, a DIS signal without the V.8 Protocol is transmitted.
