PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the flexibility of design about the configuration, shape and the like of transducer elements, without needing a special process of a piezoelectric material. SOLUTION: An element array for forming a sparse type 2D transducer is composed of an active element 20A and reactive element 20B. For the element array, a plurality of element groups are set, with each being composed of four elements. Each element group forms a transducer element 34 and has a lead 12 for each element 34 as common connection electrode, allowing the pitch between the transducer elements to be half the size of the transducer element.
