PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector in which engagement of an elastic locking piece and a terminal fitting can be released without a prizing operation of a tool for release. SOLUTION: The terminal fitting 2 of the female side is housed in a terminal housing chamber 6 of a housing 3. The terminal housing chamber 6 is opened to the front and rear, and the front opening is made as a terminal connecting hole 6B to allow approach of the male side terminal fitting 8. Furthermore, at the front face of the housing 3, a hole 14 for tool is opened up separated by a wall part 10B next to the terminal connecting hole 6B. When the releasing end part 32 of the tool 13 for the release is inserted into the hole 14 for tool in order to release engagement of the terminal fitting 2 and the elastic locking piece 9, a guide face 26 installed at the terminal fitting 2 moves the releasing end part 32 in the direction to release the engagement of the terminal fittings 2 and the elastic locking piece 9.
