PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator for a valve with a manual operation mechanism excellent in an operating property at the time of manual operation, compact, free to reduce cost and capable of carrying out precise manual operation. SOLUTION: This actuator for the valve having a rotationally driving source 12, a speed reducing gear mechanism 16 to transmit rotation from the rotationally driving source 12 by reducing speed of it and an output shaft 20 to output rotation from the speed reducing gear mechanism 16 and to rotationally open and close a valve disc 31 for the valve through this output shaft 20 and a valve stem 30 in its cover 32 projectively forms a manual operating shaft 41 free to manually operate this valve disc 31 for the valve and a valve opening meter 33 to interlock with this manual operating shaft 41 on an upper part of the cover 32 and arranges this valve opening meter 33 at a position lower than a manual operating part of the manual operating shaft 41.
