PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of rationally determining a recipe for cleaning treatment to be adapted to a soil to be an object of cleaning treatment for microbially decomposing a pollutant, and a soil cleaning treatment method. SOLUTION: The method of determining the recipe for cleaning treatment includes a process for forming data bases of cleaning treatment examples of a plurality of polluted soils, a process for obtaining data by DGGE method related to a microorganism phase present in polluted soils becoming cleaning treatment objects, a process for extracting 1 or a plurality of data approximate to the data of the microorganism phase of target polluted soils from the data base and a process for selecting the recipe of cleaning treatment adapted to the target polluted soil from the data base.
