A phosmidosine derivative with excellent stability which is represented by the following general formula (I): (I) (wherein R<1> represents C1-8 alkyl; R<2> represents hydrogen or a nitrogen-protecting group; R<3> and R<4> each independently represents hydrogen or a hydroxy-protecting group, provided that R<3> and R<4> may be bonded to each other to form a ring in cooperation with the two oxygen atoms bonded to these; R<5> represents hydrogen or a nitrogen-protecting group; and X represents oxygen or sulfur; provided that when R<1> is methyl, then X is not oxygen); or a salt of the derivative.
