BRIDGE SCOUR MONITORING SYSTEM USING TDR OR OTDR

PURPOSE: A bridge scour monitoring system using TDR(Time Domain Reflectometry) or OTDR(Optical Time Domain Reflectometry) is provided to prevent disasters by previously knowing bridge scour, without needing to inspect bridge scour with the naked eye and use expensive equipment. CONSTITUTION: A bridge scour monitoring system using TDR or OTDR comprises a boring hole(20) installed at the point of a base structure(25), a coaxial cable or an optical fiber cable(10) used for communication; buoyancy members(11) vertically maintaining the coaxial cable or the optical fiber cable, to be used as a sensor, in erosion and sedimentation; filling sand for filling after installing a cable system including the buoyancy members to the boring hole; and a TDR or OTDR system for projecting a pulse signal into the cable. Thus, the depth of scour is measured.
