<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin care preparation for external use, which gives a moist touch and an impregnated touch, when coated, gives a sense of smooth use and a sense of tension, and has an excellent skin moisture-retaining effect and an excellent skin-tightening effect. <P>SOLUTION: This skin care preparation for external use comprises one or more substances selected from a collagen and its hydrolysates, and their salts and derivatives, one or more sea alga extracts, and an extract of Hamamelis japonica Sieb. et Zucc., Hamamelis obtsusata Makino, Hamamelis japonica Sieb. et Zucc.var. obtsusata Matsum., Hamamelis virginiana L., or Hamamelis mollis Oliv.
