PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink supply unit in which contamination with ink incident to ink supply can be prevented, and an inkjet recorder comprising the ink supply unit. SOLUTION: When the forward end of a pipe body 94 enters an ink supply opening 44 as an ink supply port 36 advances and a valve abutting part 110 and a valve protrusion 122 press against each other, a valve element 98 opens an interconnection hole 96. When the pipe body 94 is inserted further into the ink supply opening 44, a valve 118 separates from the protrusion 114C of a gasket 114 and they begin to be opened. Since a lip part 114B does not touch the outer circumferential part of the pipe body 94, ink channel is opened to the atmosphere and ink remaining/adhering at the outer circumferential part of the pipe body 94 or in the ink supply opening 44 is sucked into a subink tank 30 by the negative pressure in the subink tank 30.
