PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent dust in case of cutting a columnar structure from spattering, and to prevent falling of the fragments of the structure during suspension of the cut structure. SOLUTION: A process in which a scaffold 10 formed at the front end section of a second crane 8 is constructed extensively over the whole circumference of the section to be cut of a chimney 2, a process in which a sealing booth 30 in which a lower end section is opened is covered extensively over the scaffold 10 from the upper end section of the chimney 2, a process in which the chimney 2 is cut inside the sealing booth 30, a process in which a cut and separated chimney 4 is lifted by a first crane 6, a lower cover is installed at the lower end of the chimney 4, the lower end section of the sealing booth 30 is closed and the cut and separated chimney 4 is sealed into the sealing booth 30, and a process in which the cut and separated chimney 4 is hung down on a ground are carried out successively.
