PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and extremely rapidly producing an electrically-conductive poly(ethylene-3, 4-dioxythiophene), and to obtain an intermediate for the poly(ethylene-3, 4-dioxythiophene). SOLUTION: A compound expressed by formula I (A is a 1-4C alkylene which may be substituted; R is, or Rs are different from or identical to each other and are each a linear or branched 1-18C alkyl, 5-12C cycloalkyl, 6-14C aryl or 1-4C hydroxy alkyl the each of which may be substituted, or R is, or Rs are each, hydroxy; (x) is 0 to 8; and (n) is 0 or 1) is provided in the specification.
