PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform a burr removing operation after the operation to engrave a photogravure cylinder. SOLUTION: An upper arm and a beam are supported, in a freely rotatable manner, around an axis as a pivot and a cutting member for removing burrs is fixed to the beam. The length from the axis to the cutting member is the same as that from the axis to an engraving needle. The base part of the arm moves in the radial direction of a cylinder in accordance with a change in the diameter of the cylinder, but the angle at which the cutting member comes into contact with the surface of the cylinder does not change, because the upper arm rotates around the axis as a pivot.
