PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double housing machine tool capable of conducting multi-face machining and rotating machining which cannot be conducted by conventional double housing machine tools. SOLUTION: This double housing machine tool comprises a column 2 installed on a bed 4, a cross rail 6 movable up and down along the column 2, a saddle 8 horizontally movable right and left along a cross rail 6, a main spindle head 10 mounted on the saddle 8, and a table 12 movable forward and backward along the bed 4. The double housing machine tool is composed as a 5-axis controllable machine comprising an X-axis to move the table forward and backward, a Z-axis to move the cross rail 6 up and down, a Y-axis to move the saddle 8 right and left, an A-axis to rotate the main spindle head around a rotation axis parallel to the X-axis, and a C-axis divided by rotating the table 12.
