The present invention is directed to an information management system for carrying out unitary management of information by using "information image" in which image information and related information are caused to be one handling unit to thereby carry out regulation or limitation of duplication, etc. This information management system carries out management of information which is the same as information that client carries out management in server, and carries out transfer of the information on the server to allow the client to inhibit access to the information if permission of the server is not given to thereby have ability to carry out high level information access right management.
