The lining has a cut-out for a side impact airbag. The cut-out is covered by a formed part with decorative skin of two parts, connected by a seam, which is torn open when the airbag inflates. The seam (10) is located outside the area of the cut-out (3) and within an area of at least one narrow side (12) of the inner lining part (1). An intermediate layer (8) of a woven mat between formed part (5) and decorative skin (9) is at least partially connected to the skin and has lower flexibility. The decorative skin is of fabric, leather, or a plastic film.
