Injection unit for an injection molding machine has one plate connected to the plasticizing screw shaft and a second plate (2) which can be moved axially with respect to the first. The second plate is attached to a spindle by a spindle nut, while the spindle passes freely through the first plate. The second plate is mounted so that it can swivel slightly with respect to the spindle so that deformation of the plate does not deform the spindle.
