PURPOSE: A recording method for preventing data loss in an optical recorder is provided to prevent the input data loss in the beginning of data recording, since a preliminary operation is started simultaneously with recording of the input data and the recording is started from the data stored in the memory as the preliminary operation is finished. CONSTITUTION: A recording method for preventing data loss in an optical recorder includes the steps of carrying out a preliminary operation for recording as recording data is input, and simultaneously storing the data input during the preliminary operation in an additional memory. The memory has a capacity larger than a buffer used in general recording. As the preliminary operation is finished, the initial data stored in the memory is recorded first and normal data is recorded by the buffer without using the memory.
