Method and device for certain switch position identification of a rotary switch

The switch position indicator uses a pair of analogue signals (2a,2b), indicating the angular position of the rotary switch (1) and a pair of redundant processing units (4a,4b) for determining the corresponding switch position. Both analogue signals are fed to a pair of measured value detection devices (3a,3b), supplying 2 digital switch position signals (5a,5b; 5c,5b) to each processing unit, for providing a plausibility check. An independent claim for a switch position indication method for a rotary switch is also included.
