The cutting machine comprises a bread pusher (3) pivoted (5) on a chassis (2). The machine is provided with a safety lid (1) having a spring (6) ensuring the stability of the lid open position. The lid can be opened by a cam (4) able to be displaced with the lid about the pivot. The cam has a groove (7) for receiving the spring.
