The device has an electronic component (14) that is to be cooled, especially a power component in the form of a transistor, in a housing (16) whose exterior carries at least one contact connection element (18) and at least one heat extraction element (20) thermally connected to a cooling body (12). The thermal connection between the heat extraction element and the cooling body has a thermally sprayed on copper coating (38) and the heat extraction element is joined to the copper coating by material locking.
