Sewing thread comprises 2-6, transparent or translucent and uncoloured or slightly pigmented, continuous, 30-80 denier, filaments of nylon or polyethylene terephthalate twisted together with 4-8 turns per inch. The thread may be heat set by steaming, and/or the filaments may be lightly bonded together by adhesive, and/or treated with lubricant such as silicone oil. Seams formed by the thread lie close to the fabric &c. and "take-on" the colour thereof.
