The latex reagent detecting Mycoplasma pneumoniae antibodies comprises an immuno-diagnostic quantifier based on agglutination and sedimentation of latex particles sensitised by a lipid antigen of Mycoplasma pneumoniae. The economical simple test is highly specific, and stable over time. The absence of specific antibodies is detected through sedimentation of the particles.
