PURPOSE: A method of controlling home information appliances using a natural language is provided to allow a user to remotely check and control the state of a home information appliance through the user's voice. CONSTITUTION: Connection with a home server is achieved and an information appliance control mode is confirmed. In the case of the appliance control mode, inputted voice is recognized. The recognized voice is processed into a natural language to confirm a corresponding control command. An appliance connected to the home server is controlled according to the control command. The control result or current state of the appliance is received and processed into a natural-language sentence. The sentence is transmitted to a user remotely located.
