PURPOSE: A vane-type air compressor is provided to obtain high-pressure compressed air by raising compression efficiency and to variously apply the air compressor by reducing the size. CONSTITUTION: In a vane-type air compressor, guide grooves(43,53) inclined along the inner circumference are formed to an upper body(40) and a lower body(50) constituting a closed casing, and assembling plates are fixed to the upper and lower parts of a shaft(30) to be assembled to the inside of the casing. An impeller to be fitted between the upper and lower assembling plates comprises a partition(22) assembled outside spherical bosses(12,12') and fitted in the guide groove, and a vane(26) radially assembled in the partition to vertically move. An outflow hole(45) and an inlet hole are each formed to the front of the upper body and to the front of the lower body. An inlet hole(44) and an outflow hole are each formed to the rear of the upper body and to the rear of the lower body.
