PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a method for driving the same are provided to realize dot inversion with half power consumption by applying common voltages different in polarity by columns. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes a plurality of gate lines(61), a plurality of source lines(62), and a plurality of pixels connected to the gate lines and the source lines. Each pixel includes a thin film transistor connected to the gate line and the source line, and a capacitor connected to the thin film transistor. The capacitors connected to odd source lines(62-1) are connected to a first common voltage terminal. The other capacitors connected to even source lines(62-2) are connected to a second common voltage terminal. Voltages applied to the first common voltage terminal and the second common voltage terminal are different from each other in polarity. |
