PURPOSE: An upper substrate, a liquid crystal display having the same, and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent a common electrode from contacting with gate and data driving circuits if external force is applied, thereby preventing driving defect of a liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION: A spacer(150) separates an upper substrate(100) and a lower substrate(200) at a predetermined gap to decide a separation distance between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. The spacer is formed corresponding to a non-effective display area not to influence an aperture ratio of a liquid crystal display. The spacers are formed of first spacers(151) formed corresponding to the non-effective display area of a display area(Ds), and second spacers(152) formed at a driving area(Dr) and smaller than the first spacers in width and height. |
