APPARATUS FOR PREVENTING DAMAGE TO SPLASH COVER OF MAIN RUNNER OF BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE: To prevent the splash cover of a main runner from being damaged due to hot blast and melt during fore blowing operation by installing a detachable wear resistant cover at an inner side of the splash cover. CONSTITUTION: A long groove(5) is formed on a central upper surface of a splash cover(230) adjacent to the side of a blast furnace(200). Upper parts of body of wear prevention cover(10) formed of metal cases respectively are inserted into the long groove(5) in a row. Refractory material is adhered to the lower side of the body in such a way that a lower surface of the refractory material is formed in an arc shaped curved surface so that the melt (P) discharged from a tap hole(212) of the blast furnace(200) and high pressure air are collided with the lower surface of the refractory material and reflected downward from the side of the splash cover(230) to prevent damage of the splash cover(230).
