<p>The gas spring has a length which is adjustable, and has a piston rod (8) which can be guided out of a housing (1), concentric to the central longitudinal axis (21) of the latter. A piston (5) is accommodated on the rod, and can slide in the housing in order to divide the latter into two spaces (17,20), which are connected by a valve (19). The valve is operated by a lever (34) which is mounted so that it can pivot normal to its longitudinal direction. It can be pivoted from a rest position and into a position in which the valve is open, and in which the spaces are connected by gap (51) which is formed by a seat surface (46) which is lifted away from a seal (45).</p> |
