PURPOSE: A method for preventing loss of call processing data in switching a backup of a home location register of a mobile communication system is provided to prevent bad incoming and originating after backup switching by preventing loss of subscriber call processing data during transmitting time of a call processing database and No.7 signal point switching time. CONSTITUTION: In the case of switching a home location register, information change request signals are received for changing information of a database stored at the home location register and the changed information is generated and stored in a single segment file(S501-S507). The database stored at the home location register is backed up to a database of a home location register for a backup(S508). The stored segment file is transmitted to the home location register for a backup in real time and the transmitted file is deleted(S509). The home location register for backup updates the backed-up database based on the received segment file. In updating, a signal line of a transmission path of the home location register is restored to the home location register for a backup(S510).
