PURPOSE: A fuel supply device of a fuel cell is provided, to allow the amount of the hydrogen supplied to a stack to be coped rapidly with the change of load output. CONSTITUTION: The fuel supply device comprises a reformer(12) which generates hydrogen from the supplied fuel; a stack(13) which comprises a fuel electrode(13b) where the hydrogen or hydrogen-containing fuel generated at the reformer is supplied, an air electrode(13c) where oxygen or oxygen-containing oxidizing agent is supplied and an electrolyte membrane(13a) placed between the two electrodes, and generates the electricity and the heat by the electrochemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen; a compressor(30) which controls the amount of hydrogen supplied to the stack; and a controller(31) which detects the load output of the electric power generated at the stack and amount of the hydrogen supplied to the stack to control the operation of the compressor. Preferably the compressor(30) is mounted on a hydrogen supply channel(15) for supplying the hydrogen generated at the reformer to the fuel electrode of the stack. |
