DISPLAY AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A display and a method of controlling the display are provided to turn off the display at the same time when a computer main body is turned off. CONSTITUTION: A display(20) includes a video connector(5) having a DDC communication pin connected with a video card(3) of a computer main body(10), a video signal processor(9) for processing a video signal applied through the video connector, and a power supply(6). The display further includes a power circuit(15) and a switch(7). The power circuit converts the power of the power supply to a plurality of driving powers to provide the driving powers to circuits constructing the display. The switch selects one of DDC voltage provided through the video connector and H/V synchronous signal to connect/disconnect the power supply and power circuit to/from each other according to the selected signal.
