PURPOSE: An automatic control device for headlights and taillights of a vehicle is provided to obtain the optimal front view without operation of a driver by automatically turning on and off headlights and taillights with detecting illumination around the vehicle during traveling. CONSTITUTION: An automatic headlight and taillight control device comprises illumination detecting units(R01,R02) detecting illumination around a vehicle; resistors(R1-R18) setting lighting reference illumination and lights-out reference illumination for taillights or headlights; varistors(VR1,VR2) adjusting the illumination detection degree of the illumination detecting unit; comparators comparing illumination detected by the resistor and the illumination detecting units with the reference illumination set by the resistors; transistors(Q1,Q2) and a relay turning on and off taillights and headlights with switching according to output signals from the comparators; condensers(C1,C2,C3,C4) delaying the output signals of the comparators to prevent wrong operation in differentially turning on and off headlights and taillights; and LEDs(Light Emitting Diodes) displaying operation of taillights.
