PURPOSE: A smart power-saving multitap is provided to automatically control power to be applied to peripheral devices of a PC only when the PC is operated so as to save power. CONSTITUTION: A smart power-saving multitap includes an AC power input unit(111), a PC connection terminal(101), an internal circuit board(103), a function selecting switch(104), a PC power connector(105), and peripheral power connectors(106,107,108,109,110). The AC power input unit receives external AC power. The PC connection terminal is provided with power and control signals from a PC. The internal circuit board detects the operation of the PC through the control signals and power supplied from the PC connection terminal and controls the power of the AC power input unit. The function selecting switch supports a general multitap mode, power-saving multitap mode and power off mode. The PC power connector provides power to the PC. The peripheral power connectors supply power to peripheral devices.
