PURPOSE: A steering system for a vehicle is provided to simplify the structure and easily align a wiring by mounting a slider of which both ends are engaged with input and output shafts and axially slid by torque generated between input and output shafts, and by sensing the position displacement of the slider. CONSTITUTION: A steering system for a vehicle is composed of an input shaft(20) connected to a steering wheel(10); an output shaft(40) connected to a steering link(30) which vehicle wheels are mounted to both ends thereof; a motor connected to the output shaft through a speed reducer(50); a slider(70) of which an end is rotatively engaged to the outside of the input shaft at a predetermined angle and the other end is engaged to the outside of the output shaft to axially move, for being axially slid along the output shaft by the rotation of the input shaft and which includes an inserting groove(73) at the outer periphery; and a sensing device(80) including a movable unit(83) of which one end is inserted into the inserting groove and which axially moves together with the slider, and a sensing unit(86) sensing the movements of the movable unit, for controlling the driving of the motor after sensing the position change of the slider.
