PURPOSE: A device for controlling power of a mobile communication system is provided to carry out power control within the shortest time in hardware system, and to minimize data information for controlling the device, thereby reducing size of the device. CONSTITUTION: A CPU interface(100) outputs a memory address for setting initial transmission power to start power control, and outputs size of power to be increased/decreased by a level of a downlink power control signal. A memory(300) stores PDM(Pulse Density Modulation) values for setting transmission power at each step as difference values. A PDM operator(200) sequentially increases/decreases PDM difference values of each step from previously operated PDM values by the level of the downlink power control signal, and outputs the increased/decreased PDM difference values. A pulse density modulator(400) outputs pulses corresponding to the outputted PDM values.
