LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a method for driving the same are provided to form two switching elements and two liquid crystal capacitors at every one pixel, and couple neighboring pixels by using a coupling capacitor, thereby preventing gray scale inversion and improving the visibility. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of pixels are arranged in matrix type. A plurality of gate lines are formed in a line direction. A plurality of data lines(D0-Dm) are formed in a column direction. Each pixel is connected to one gate line. The pixels of at least one line are alternately connected to the adjacent data lines by at least one line. One data line supplies data signals having the inverted polarity to the pixels, thereby supplying data signals having the same polarity to at least one column of pixels.
