Described are compounds of the formula I, where: R1 is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, haloalkyl or unsubstituted or mono-to penta-substituted phenyl, where the substituents are selected from the group comprising alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, halogen, cyano and nitro, whereby if the number of substituents is greater than 1, the substituents may be identical or different; R2 is hydrogen, alkyl, alkylenephenyl, pyridyl, COOR6, CONR7R8, COR6, allyl or CH2-O-R6; X1 is N; X2 is C(CN), C(COOR6), C(COR6), C(SOR6), C(CONR7R8) or C(NO2); X3 is O or S; Q is CH or N; R3 and R4, independently of one another, are hydrogen, C1-C6-alkyl or together with the C-atom to which they are bonded, a cycloalkyl ring; R5 is a substituent from the group comprising alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, halogen, cyano, hydroxy, amino, nitro and mono-to penta-substituted phenyl, where the substituents are selected from the group comprising alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, halogen, cyano, hydroxy, amino and nitro, where if m is greater than 1, the substituents R5 may be identical or different; R6 is alkyl, phenyl or benzyl; R7 and R8, independently of one another, are hydrogen or alkyl; m is 1, 2 or 3; n is 0 or 1. Also described is a composition for the control of pests, which contains as active ingredient at least one compound of formula I in addition to carriers and/or dispersants. Also described is the use of compounds of formula I in the control of pests, excluding internal use in human beings.
