PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the sense of incongruity from being given to a driver in such construction as to grant departure preventing torque for the purpose of preventing the departure of a lane. SOLUTION: This lane departure preventing device comprises a vehicle attitude specifying part 11 for detecting the attitude of a vehicle on a travel road in cooperation with a lane recognition sensor, a steering torque granting part 12 for granting a steering wheel departure preventing steering torque enough to make the vehicle attitude changed in an anti-departing direction and parallel to the travel road when the vehicle attitude specifying part 11 detects that the vehicle departs or tends to depart from the travel road, and a vehicle attitude control part 13 for controlling the vehicle attitude to be kept parallel to the travel road for a certain time when the steering torque granting part 12 grants the departure preventing steering torque to make the vehicle attitude parallel to the travel road.
