PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode stack type battery that is structurally simple owing to a reduced number of parts. SOLUTION: An electrode stack 13 in which positive plates 17 and negative plates 19 are stacked with separators 21 in between is sealed in a packaging case 15 made of laminate films 15a and 15b to form a battery unit B. The laminate films 15a and 15b have an outer resin layer 29 and an inner resin layer 31 of insulating material on opposite surfaces of an aluminum layer 27, and form an overall integral lamination. The inner resin layers 31 are partly peeled to form a positive collector contact portion 33 and a negative collector contact portion 35 where the aluminum layers 27 are exposed, and to the positive and negative collector contact portions 33 and 35, positive and negative collectors 23 and 25 led out from the positive and negative plates 17 and 19 are connected, respectively. The outer resin layers 29 are partly peeled to respectively form a positive terminal contact portion 37 and a negative terminal contact portion 39 where the aluminum layers 27 are exposed.
