METHOD OF MANUFACTURING COLOR CATHODE-RAY TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a color cathode-ray tube capable of preventing variations in sidewall height of a frame for welding a mask, and improving uniformity of the rigidity of the frame. SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: assembling the frame 90 having a pair of stretching surfaces 11 and 12; processing the stretching surfaces 11 and 12 into predetermined shapes by machining; measuring the amount of torsion amount L of the frame 90; and stretching a mask over the stretching surfaces 11 and 12. The amount of machining of a first end portion 51 of the first stretching surface 11 is set to L/2. The amount of machining of a second end portion 62 of the second stretching surface 12 is set to L/2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
